Below you will find answers to some of James Hu MD’s most frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call.
Will insurance cover the costs of my visit?
While we do accept most insurance, depending on the type of service it may not be covered. It’s always best to check with your insurance company prior to your appointment.
Is everything confidential?
Everything is strictly confidential. From what you say during your appointment, to your records; I always honor my patient’s privacy.
Do I need a referral?
While a referral is not necessary, sometimes it is mandatory for insurance purposes. If insurance does require a referral, generally this has to come from your regular GP.
How many years of experience do you have?
I have over 25 years of dermatology experience.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Please visit our First Visit Information page for more information.
What conditions can you treat?
There is an extensive list of conditions I can treat or help you manage. However, the most common conditions I treat are: acne, lesions, cysts, moles, skin tags, age related skin issues, psoriasis, eczema, and other various hair, skin, and nail problems.
How much will treatment cost?
Treatment cost is a highly variable subject. The cost of service changes depending on the severity and method of treatment. Luckily, many skin diseases and issues are covered under insurance plans.
I don’t know how to look after my skin or know my skin type! Can you help?
I can definitely help you! You are not alone; many people feel the same way. I can show you how to properly look after your skin, and tell you what your individual skin type is. For most people, there is one dominant skin type, and each skin type requires different care.
